Foraging Day at the Hoodeners Horse – POSTPONED
This combined event between Hoodeners Horse, Hilde Marie-Smith (catering4Kent) and featuring Michael White from Rural Courses your foraging host for the morning.
In life we always wonder what is around us that somehow we never quite see, this is your chance to enjoy a quiet walk through the countryside with one of Kent’s foremost foragers whilst he shows you the potential of the foods in every field and hedgerow that we never see and think about!
We will meet at 9am at the Hoodeners Horse for a Coffee or Tea and a Bacon Roll before we start out.
10:00am Michael White will commence the walk around the local area and for the next 2-2:30hrs will talk about the foraging world around us.
12:30 On arrival back at the Hoodeners Horse you will be greeted with a refreshing glass of cordial, in addition we will be showcasing some Mexican themed appetisers to whet the appetite and for those that want something stronger drink wise, the bar will be open for you to purchase your choice of drinks.
Hilde Marie-Smith will have prepared a buffet lunch for those of you that have been on the walk as follows:

Assorted Bread Basket and Butter
Chicken Meringu – With Sun blushed tomatoes and wild mushrooms
Poached Salmon steaks with wild herb dressing
Buttered New Potatoes
Green Salad with Dressing
After lunch we will settle down for a quiet, hopefully sun blessed afternoon on the patio to discuss all the things we learnt about foraging and to sample the Hoodeners Horse’s selection of wines and Beer’s.
