Local, Fresh and Just for You

Do you like home-made, fresh, well cooked food? Of course you do, you come to The Hoodeners Horse! We spend time and effort to find local suppliers that give us their best produce and then we perfect our recipes, giving you the most delicious and mouth-watering food.

This month we have updated our starters menu to include creamy camembert with red onion chutney, cod and chorizo cakes with a sweet chilli dip and a delicious fish goujon sampler of cod, plaice, lemon sole and monkfish and homemade tartare sauce that we serve. Please do come in and try them; you could even grab yourself a bargain dinner with one of our Times Newspaper offers; have a look at the details later on in this newsletter.

Hand cut Chips, Fajitas, Home-made Burgers

We’ve still got our famous hand cut chips, sizzling fajitas and juicy home-made burgers, as well as all your other Hoodeners Horse favourites, but check back soon as we are revamping the dessert menu. We’re still experimenting with all things gooey and sweet at the moment, but will have more news next time.

VAT – what VAT?

We’ve decided that the best way to take the sting out of the VAT rise this month would be to pretend like it never happened. That’s right, if you dine with us, you dine at last year’s prices; same delicious food, same friendly staff, same warm welcome AND the same old price. We’re doing our bit to keep the money in your pocket, where it belongs.

We Love Chips!

What the heck is a hand-cut chip? We have it written all over our menus, we’ve already mentioned it in this newsletter, but what does that really mean for you? It means, that when we cut our locally sourced, fresh, handpicked, potatoes we have exact control over how chunky they are….and we know you like them chunky. It means that you can use them to scoop up our home-made chilli, dip them into the salsa and get the perfect crunchy outside and fluffy inside for the ultimate chip experience.

A Romantic start to the week

It’s Valentine’s day, you’ve already bought the flowers and the chocolates and you want to finish her day with something tasty and home cooked to eat, but, she’s your special lady so you want to take her out to dinner – what do you do?

We are turning our expert hand to the job of bringing you a succulent and splendid roast dinner that you won’t forget in a hurry. You get to choose from Roast Beef, Lamb or Pork and we’ll make sure you get all the traditional trimmings and plenty of roast potatoes to go with it. Add to that the freshest vegetables and home-made gravy and you have the perfect end to the week.
